WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A design textbook/workbook co-authored by two graphic design faculty members at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been published by Oxford University Press.
Released on Feb. 1, “Visual Literacy Workbook for Graphic Design and Fine Art Students” was written by David M. Moyer and Brian A. Flynn, assistant professors of graphic design.
Appropriate for graphic designers and fine artists, the workbook provides a detailed approach to understanding visual imagery and presents a wide range of fine art, graphic and digital examples. The intention of the work is to fully prepare students to participate in the design process and visual content interpretation.
The book is being used in two classes at Penn College: Two-Dimensional Design and Visual Literacy. The publication is available in The College Store at Penn College and is being sold by Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the Oxford University Press website.
Moyer received a Master of Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Delaware.
Flynn holds a Master of Fine Arts from Indiana State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design.
