UNIVERSITY PARK — Find out what’s happening at University Park and start a new tradition this summer at We Are Weekend, which combines time-honored favorites and new advancements that Penn Staters are sure to love.

The Penn State Alumni Association will host the premier summer event from May 31 to June 2 at University Park, with some events taking place nearby in downtown State College.

Penn Staters can customize their weekend schedule by choosing from a wide array of events offered by the Alumni Association, academic colleges, and community partners.

We Are Weekend highlights that will appeal to Penn Staters of all ages include:

  • Exclusive behind-the-scenes access to campus landmarks, such as the new School of Music recital hall and Beaver Stadium.
  • Discover the stars and tour the sky at the Davey Lab Planetarium.
  • Commemorative photos at the Nittany Lion Shrine.

And for the 21-and-over crowd, enjoy a Dueling Lions Piano Bar featuring Howl at the Moon musicians. The crowd-favorite band will play Saturday night at the Nittany Lion Inn, a campus landmark that boasts plenty of blue-and-white fanfare.

There also will be a social hour at Federal Taphouse, located at the corner of Beaver Avenue and South Fraser Street, above Target, in downtown State College.

Register today and check out the video below to find out why recent graduate Jared McKnight, Class of 2011, said last year’s event was the right time to start a new Penn State tradition.
