UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — OrgCentral, a new student organization platform launched Feb. 13, will better serve student organizations by helping them organize and publicize club information while also helping those students interested in joining a club find one.

Jennifer Grossman Leopard, the assistant director of student organizations in the Office of Student Activities, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, said that the website offers a lot more functionality for student organizations than the previous site E-Student Union, which will still be available to access during the transition.

Grossman Leopard said the new platform will allow students to manage their organizations more internally and efficiently. The platform will track data more accurately by keeping a record of organization membership and what and how many events each group is hosting.

Informational overview training and step-by-step interactive training will be offered for officers to attend. The schedule can be found on the OrgCentral launch website.

Organizations will also have the opportunity to better publicize their mission and activities. The platform will allow organizations to post photo galleries, news updates and details, such as lists of officers or directors.

News updates will allow organizations to post their accomplishments, upcoming events, advertisements and general updates to the general directory to have featured or on their own site.

“This is the main hub to find information about getting involved with a student organization,” Grossman Leopard said, adding that the new platform will offer better functionality, more efficiency and be a much more dynamic-looking site.

The new platform is designed to better serve students at Penn State, which has over one thousand clubs and organizations, to find the perfect one based on their interests. Students who are interested in finding a club to join or looking to start their own can find more information at this link: Join a student organization.
