University Staff Advisory Council accepting applications for new members

February 04, 2019

The University Staff Advisory Council (USAC) is accepting applications for the 2019-20 academic year.

Applications are due by March 31, and applicants from all Penn State campus locations will be considered. Applicants will be asked to submit a letter of support from their supervisor during the submission process. The application form can be found online.

Appointed USAC members have voting responsibilities and serve three-year terms, beginning Aug. 1. Monthly council meetings typically occur during normal University hours, last approximately two hours, and are considered University business.  USAC members also serve on sub-committees within the larger council.

Formed in January 1995, the University Staff Advisory Council is “the voice for Penn State staff” and exists for the purpose of suggestion, review and advice on issues that impact or are impacted by staff. Issues such as policy and practice, continuous quality improvement, diversity, customer service or other similar matters are addressed. The council acts in an advisory capacity to the University administration through the vice president for human resources.

USAC is composed of 24 members from across campuses, colleges and units, including liaisons representing the President’s Equity Commissions. To learn more about the council, visit https://hr.psu.edu/university-staff-advisory-council
