UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Students, faculty, staff and visitors at University Park are reminded to plan for frigid temperatures on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 30, and into Thursday, Jan. 31, and to travel with caution.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Centre County until noon Thursday. Forecasts call for temperatures to drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning, with wind chill values well below zero.

When traveling outside in cold temperatures, plan in advance. Wear several layers of clothing, including adequate coverings for the head, face, hands and feet. Penn State University Police and Public Safety reminds all students, faculty, staff and visitors to exercise caution during inclement weather, and to leave extra time for travel. Individuals are encouraged to take responsibility for their own safety, and should use their own best judgment when considering traveling to campus during inclement weather.
