UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Student Programming Association Concerts Committee will present Tinashe in concert, at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Alumni Hall.

Tinashe is an R&B, pop, singer/songwriter whose career began in 2012 with the release of her debut mixtape, "In Case We Die." Since then, she put out two more mixtapes, as well as three albums. “2 On,” her first single from her debut album, "Aquarius," entered the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart at number 89.

She collaborated with a variety of different artists like Chance the Rapper, Chris Brown, Blackbear, and more. Her song, “All My Friends,” features Chance the Rapper as well as Snakeships, which reached the top 20 in five countries. In addition, Tinashe toured as an opening act for Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Maroon 5.

Tinashe was nominated for the Best New Artist award at two different award shows; her song, “All My Friends” won Best Contemporary Song, and her track “2 On” won Most Performed R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

In addition to her music career, Tinashe has appeared in several TV shows and movies, including "Two and a Half Men," "The Polar Express" and "Dancing with the Stars," and will feature in "Rent: Live."

The performance is free for all students with a valid Penn State University Park Student Photo ID and is funded by the student-initiated fee.
