Performances
BodyTraffic — 7:30 p.m., Jan. 26, Eisenhower Auditorium, University Park campus. The Los Angeles-based dance troupe makes its Penn State debut.
63rd Faculty Trombone Recital — 7:30 p.m., Jan. 28, Recital Hall. Music Building I, University Park campus. School of Music faculty member Mark Lusk will be joined by Nitzan Haroz, principal trombonist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and Pete Sullivan, principal trombonist of the Pittsburgh Symphony. Free.
Regina Carter — 7:30 p.m., Jan. 31, Schwab Auditorium, University Park campus. Jazz violinist Regina Carter interprets Ella Fitzgerald in her "Simply Ella" program.

Reception for "Race and Revolution: Still Separate, Still Unequal" — 5-7 p.m., Jan. 29, Woskob Family Gallery, 146 S. Allen St., State College. The opening reception for the traveling exhibition of contemporary artwork and historical documents exploring the ongoing issue of school segregation in the United States. Free.
"Back to the Future" — 4 p.m., Jan. 26, the Pullo Center, Penn State York. The classic 1980s film returns to the big screen.
Lectures
"Speak for Peace" — 6-8:30 p.m., Jan. 24, Heritage Hall, University Park campus. During this oratorical contest, student contestants will recite their essays live in front of a panel of judges for a chance to win a book scholarship. Seating and food available in a first-come, first-serve basis. Free.
Coach Ken Carter — 7 p.m., Jan. 24, Mukind S. Kulkarni Theatre, SEC Building, Penn State Harrisburg. Coach Ken Carter, dean/headmaster behind the Coach Carter Impact Academy and the Carter Brand and inspiration for the film "Coach Carter" visits Penn State Harrisburg. Free.
"Discovery of Pulsars: A Graduate Student's Story" — 2 p.m., Jan. 25, Foster Auditorium, Paterno Library, University Park campus. Astrophysicist Jocelyn Bell Burnell, winner of the 2018 Special Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, will present the spring 2019 Science Achievement Graduate Fellows Lecture. Free.
Bob Angelo — 6 p.m., Jan. 28, 262 Willard Building, University Park campus. Bob Angelo, a Penn State journalism alumnus who worked for NFL Films for 43 years, will discuss his work and participate in a question-and-answer session. Free.
"One Health, One Planet: Building Global Health Security Against Infectious Diseases" — 7 p.m., Jan. 28, Palmer Museum of Art, University Park campus. Peter Hudson, Willaman Professor of Biology, presents the 24th annual Mark Luchinsky Memorial Lecture. Free, but advanced registration required.
Exhibits
"Into the Woods: Nature in Your Library" — Sept. 5-Feb. 11, 203 Pattee Library, University Park campus. This exhibit explores the eastern U.S. forest, its wildlife and botanical health, and gives special tribute to early women naturalists and conservationists. Free.
"The Bearded Lady Project: Challenging the Face of Science" — Nov. 1-Feb. 22, Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum and Art Gallery, 18 Deike Building, University Park campus. A traveling art exhibit featuring photographs highlighting female paleontologists in the field and in their laboratories. Free.
"Subjective Spaces: Drawings and Collages by Robert Reed" — Jan. 5-May 19, Palmer Museum of Art, University Park campus. This intimate retrospective features 16 selections from Reed's drawings and collages. Free.
MLK Week Student Poster Designs — Jan. 10-Feb. 27, Sidewater Commons, Pattee Library, University Park campus. Twenty student posters based on the 2019 MLK Week theme, "Where Do We Go From Here: A Tradition of Resistance," created by a graphic design course are on display. Free.
"Amazing Stories: Recent Acquisitions" — Jan. 12-May 26, Palmer Museum of Art, University Park campus. This exhibit highlights a large selection of prints by artists whose work relies heavily on representation and storytelling to explore ethnic identity and stereotypes, multicultural histories and personal narratives. Free.
