Penn College names dining services director

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Mark J. Leo has been appointed director of dining services by Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Leo, who began his duties Jan. 8, comes to Penn College from American Dining Creations, where he had been employed since 2000. Most recently, he was district manager for the company’s Mid-Atlantic Region, managing 22 corporate accounts.

Previously, he was employed as regional sales manager for US Foodservice and as a general manager and director of dining services for The Wood Co. in a variety of colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio and Maryland.

Leo holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel, restaurant and business administration from Marywood College and an associate of occupational studies degree in culinary arts and sciences and restaurant management from Scottsdale Culinary Institute.

“We are excited to have Mark join our Dining Services team at Penn College,” said Elliott Strickland Jr., vice president for student affairs. “Mark has over 29 years of experience in dining service management in corporate, industrial, sports and educational facilities including Muhlenberg, The College of New Jersey, Otterbein, and Johns Hopkins. He comes to us with considerable experience in systems management and strategic planning, and we look forward to advancing our students’ dining experience to the next level.”
