DUNMORE, Pa. — Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa has announced that Sue Fitch-Proctor, area representative for Penn State Scranton's Center for Business Development and Community Outreach, is the January Employee of the Month.

Fitch-Proctor was nominated by Lorrie Deffley, regional human resources director, and John Drake, director of the Center for Business Development and Community Outreach.

"Sue is an asset to the Scranton campus," Deffley stated in her nomination. "Her duties require her to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with external customers who rely on the Center for Business Development and Community Outreach for staff training. Recently, Sue was out of the office for an extended period of time to care for a family member with a serious health issue. During her time away from the office, Sue maintained regular contact with her customers and her colleagues to make sure all programming was on track. Sue is highly motivated to do the best job she can, whether she is on campus or at home."

"Sue is a dedicated team member who is always thinking of ways to drive in revenue and increase enrollment, while supporting anyone on campus to achieve their goals," Drake said. "This past fall, she went above and beyond — despite personal challenges, she continued that commitment no matter where she happened to be from day to day. We greatly appreciated her communication and concern for our operation when she had so many other things to think about."

The Employee of the Month recognition was initiated in 2016 by Wafa as a way of distinguishing staff members who "go above and beyond the call of duty" in serving Penn State Scranton.

Congratulations, Sue!
