Nomination deadline for multiple student achievement awards is Dec. 17

Nominations sought for multiple student achievement awards for undergraduate and graduate students, open through 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17.

The Student Achievement Awards, are made possible each year through a combination of university funding and generous endowments by alumni and supporters of Penn State students. The awards aim to recognize students for their achievements both in the classroom and in the greater community.

Undergraduate Achievement Awards

Those nominated for an Undergraduate Student Achievement Award will be considered for the Eric A. Walker Award, Ralph Dorn Hetzel Memorial Award and the John W. Oswald Award, which has many cross-discipline recipients, in the following areas: 1) scholarship, 2) athletics, 3) social service, religious activities, or student government, 4) journalism, speech, and the mass media, 5) creative and performing arts. The Eric A. Walker Award and the John W. Oswald Award are open to University Park Students. The Ralph Dorn Hetzel Memorial Award is open to students at all campuses. The nomination form is available here.

Graduate Student Service Award

The Graduate Student Service Award is available to any graduate student outside the law and medical programs and recognizes the graduate student who has the best combined high academic achievement with leadership in University or other public activities. Any current graduate student who has completed one full year of graduate studies at Penn State is eligible. Click here for the nomination form.

Jackson Lethbridge Tolerance Award

Intended to recognize broad-minded students who openly promote responsible citizenship and civil respect for diversity within the Penn State community, this award is available to a junior, senior or graduate student, at University Park, who displays respect and tolerance to all they encounter. To nominate a student for this recognition, follow this link.

In order to be considered, nominations for all awards must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17.
