Garthe serves as a program manager for online special education programs offered by the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education (EPCSE) via Penn State World Campus. These programs are: master of education in special education; graduate certificate in applied behavior analysis; post-baccalaureate certificate in educating individuals with autism; and the Special Education Supervisory Certification program. In her role, Garthe supports faculty in program development, maintenance and revisions, and provides enrollment and budgeting information to the department head for planning and evaluation. She also serves as the main liaison between the department and World Campus on program management, marketing and student services. Additionally, Garthe is the main point of contact for prospective students seeking information about online programs and current students as they work their way through the University processes from a distance.
