'Communicating Research to the Public' to be topic of Dec. 12 seminar

“Communicating Research to the Public” will be presented at the next Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute Bench to Bedside and Beyond Seminar Series from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12. 

In addition to being held in H4504 at Penn State College of Medicine, the session will be streamed to 116 Henderson at University Park and streamed online via Zoom. Online registration is requested; the online stream link will be provided upon registration. 

A panel discussion will be held about how to effectively communicate research and science to the public, highlighting some common traps scientists and research coordinators can fall into with tips to consider. This seminar will cover everything from recruitment of patients, to lay summaries, to discussing published research. The panel will feature Matthew Solovey, director of communications, Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and Scott Gilbert, team lead, media relations and multimedia, Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine. 

The Bench to Bedside and Beyond Seminar Series is held to encourage an engaged translational science workforce while promoting a culture of continuous improvement in research conduct and practice at Penn State.
