Burrowes Road closure near West Campus Steam Plant during Thanksgiving break

Beginning Monday, Nov. 19, a section of Burrowes Road located between Steam Alley and the access driveway between the Reber and Hammond buildings will be closed to allow for water line installation to the new Steam Services Building.

While the roadway will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 24, to accommodate traffic for the final Penn State football game of the season, the closure may resume on Sunday, Nov. 25, if work remains to be completed. The full reopening of the roadway is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 26.

Please note the following traffic, parking and transit impacts for next week as a result of this closure:

  • No through traffic will be available on Burrowes Road between College Avenue and Pollock Road.
  • Access to Lot Brown A from the College Avenue end of Burrowes Road will require use of the driveway located between the Reber and Hammond buildings. The bollards will be lowered to allow this access.
  • Access to Lot Brown A from Pollock Road and the driveway located between the Deike and Reber buildings will remain available for vehicles traveling south on Burrowes Road from Curtin Road.
  • Access to the Green C, Red H, Red K parking areas will require southbound travel on Burrowes Road from Curtin Road.
  • All CATABUS and Campus Shuttle stops on Burrowes Road will be closed. Riders affected are encouraged to board instead at the Pattee Transit Center or the stops at College Avenue and Allen Street, depending on the route. For details on CATABUS changes, please contact CATA's customer service center at -814-238-CATA. For Campus Shuttle questions, please email shuttles@psu.edu.
