University Police investigating incident of access device fraud, theft

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Police are investigating an incident of access device fraud and theft that occurred at the Penn State Bookstore in the HUB-Robeson Center.

At 10:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, an unknown male used a stolen credit card to make a fraudulent purchase. The male left the scene shortly after completing the purchase. The actor is a white male described as 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a brown beard. The male was wearing a red and grey hoodie, jeans, black sneakers, and a multicolored striped beanie.

Anyone with information should contact Penn State University Police at 814-863-1111 or submit tips to Centre County CrimeStoppers via email to tip@centrecountycrimestoppers.org. Those providing information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 from Centre County CrimeStoppers. Anonymous tips can be submitted at https://police.psu.edu/report-crime.

University Police would also like to remind the community to:

  • Do not leave personal items unattended for any period of time.
  • Report items stolen immediately to University Police.
  • If you see someone getting victimized, get involved by calling University Police at 3-1111, 911 or directly by using an emergency phone.
