UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The holiday season is here and the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots organization in Centre County is partnering with the Penn State basketball teams to make it a special one for area children.

For more than 30 years, the local community has generously donated thousands of toys for the annual Toys for Tots campaign to provide gifts for disadvantaged children who may not otherwise receive any presents during the holidays.

In exchange for a new toy donation, fans can purchase a $5 baseline ticket for either the men's basketball game against Colgate on Saturday, Dec. 8, or the women's basketball game against St. Bonaventure on Sunday, Dec. 9.

For season ticket holders or other fans who want to donate a new, unwrapped toy, collection boxes for the toys will be at all Bryce Jordan Center gates before each game on Dec. 8 and 9. Both games are scheduled to tip at 2 p.m.

The Athletics Ticket Office at the Jordan Center opens at 11 a.m. on both game days for fans who want to bring their toy donation and purchase tickets for either the Nittany Lions or Lady Lions games.
