Brandywine alumna named campus athletic director

MEDIA, Pa. — Penn State alumna Bobbi Caprice, a four-year student-athlete at Brandywine, has been named the campus’ athletic director effective Monday, Nov. 5. Caprice has served as assistant athletic director for the past three years.

“I’m extremely excited and honored to be appointed athletic director at the campus that has meant so much to me personally for the past nine years,” Caprice said. “I’m so proud to be part of a program where the No. 1  priority is to ensure our student-athletes are succeeding in the classroom and have the tools they need to do well in college and beyond.”

Penn State Brandywine Chancellor Kristin Woolever said Caprice has been an integral part of the athletic program’s success.

“Bobbi’s contributions to our campus have been substantial and she is most deserving of this opportunity,” Woolever said. “She is a great advocate for our student-athletes, and her enthusiasm and energy are contagious.”

Caprice scored 1,140 points during four years on Brandywine’s basketball team, and she also participated in volleyball and cross-country. She graduated from Penn State in 2013 with a degree in human development and family studies and joined the Brandywine athletic staff as recruiting coordinator shortly thereafter.

In 2015, she earned a master’s degree in school counseling from West Chester University and was promoted to Brandywine’s assistant athletic director. She also has served as an assistant coach for basketball and softball.

“It’s really amazing to have started as a student-athlete at Brandywine more than nine years ago and watched the growth of our athletic program,” Caprice said, noting the campus had six varsity sports programs when she first enrolled and now offers 16.

“The success of our program begins with our focus on providing a great Penn State education to our student-athletes,” she said. “They receive tremendous support from our coaches, faculty and staff.”
