Music industry experts to speak Nov. 8 as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — E. Michael Harrington, professor of music in music copyright and intellectual property matters, and Steven Wasser, consultant and former owner and CEO of Powell Flutes, will speak Nov. 8 in the Arts and Design Research Incubator, located in 16 Borland Building, as part of the Penn State College of Arts and Architecture’s Global Entrepreneurship Week.

From 10:35 to 11:50 a.m., Wasser will discuss real-world examples of arts marketing, offering attendees the opportunity to gain insights from Wasser’s 30 years of experience operating Powell Flutes.

From 1:35 to 2:50 p.m., Harrington, a music industry and intellectual property expert, will provide insights about entrepreneurship in the music industry and how copyright law impacts the music business.

The presentations are sponsored by the College of Arts and Architecture’s Arts Entrepreneurship Program and are free and open to the public.
