Comparative Literature Luncheon presents Eralda Lameborshi

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Eralda Lameborshi, lecturer in the Department of English and Creative Writing at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present “The Islamic Empire in the Literature of Southeastern Europe," at 12:15 pm Oct. 29, in Room 102 of the Kern Building.

Lameborshi received her doctorate from the Department of English at Texas A&M University in 2017. She is a lecturer in the Department of English and Creative Writing at Stephen F. Austin State University where she teaches writing and literature. Her areas of expertise are 20th-century Eastern European literature; the historical novel on the Ottoman Empire; literatures migration, immigration, and exile; Eastern European cinema; postcolonial theory; and film theory. She is the recipient of various fellowships and awards: the Hagler Institute for Advanced Study Fellowship, Elizabeth Greenwade Qualls 1989 Endowed Fellowship, the Summertime Advanced Research Award from the College of Liberal Arts (STAR Fellow) at Texas A&M, and the Professional Development Award from the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M. She is currently working on her book manuscript titled "The Islamic Empire and World Literature."

This event is a part of the Comparative Literature Luncheon lecture series, a weekly, informal lunchtime gathering of students, faculty and other members of the University community. Each week the event begins at 12:15 p.m. – lunch is provided. At 12:30 p.m. there will be a presentation, by a visitor or a local speaker, on a topic related to any humanities discipline.
