Executive Insights: AmerisourceBergen CEO to speak at Smeal leadership series

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Steven H. Collis, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of AmerisourceBergen, a pharmaceutical sourcing and distribution services company, will address business and leadership with the Penn State Smeal College of Business on Friday, Oct. 26. His visit is part of Smeal’s Executive Insights series.

Collis will take part in a moderated discussion with Charles H. Whiteman, John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. in the Struthers Auditorium, Room 110 of the Business Building. The event is free and open to the public, but online registration is required.

Executive Insights will be streamed on Facebook Live on Smeal’s Facebook page.

His visit is the final installment of three Executive Insights events this semester. Richard Bard kicked off the series on Sept. 28. Salomon Sredni followed on Oct. 12.

Collis earned a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Since 1994, he has held a variety of senior level leadership positions with AmerisourceBergen and its predecessors, including executive vice president and president of AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group, senior vice president of AmerisourceBergen, and his current positions.

The company serves healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers to improve patient access to products and enhance patient care. It employs more than 20,000 people in more than 150 global offices.

Executive Insights is designed to complement the Smeal educational experience by bringing high-profile business leaders to the college to connect with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
