The Penn State Commission for Adult Learners sponsors the Hendrick Award each year. Nominations for the 2019 award must be submitted by Nov. 30.

The award is open to any University employee who:

The award recipient will be recognized at the Hendrick Best Practices for Adult Learners Conference on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus. Additionally, nominees may be invited to give presentations at the conference.

The award is named in memory of Shirley Hendrick, a tireless advocate for Penn State's adult learners. Hendrick was the first recipient, dean for continuing education in the Smeal College of Business, and inaugural chair of the Commission for Adult Learners.
