Penn State Health to host two Drug Take-Back events Oct. 27

People may drop off their unwanted, unneeded or expired medication, as well as needles and syringes, for safe disposal.

HERSHEY, Pa. — Penn State Health will host two community Drive-Thru Prescription Drug Take-Back events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. They will take place at the Academic Support Building, 90 Hope Drive in Hershey; and at Penn State Health Medical Group – Palmyra at 941 Park Drive.

People may drop off their unwanted, unneeded or expired medication for safe disposal. Needles and syringes will also be accepted. Medication, needles and syringes will not be accepted prior to 10 a.m. on the day of the event.

The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked. The event aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
