Indian music festival scheduled for Oct. 19-21 in HUB-Robeson Center

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Society for Indian Music and Arts and its sister organization, Penn State Nritya, will host a festival of Indian music titled “'Dhrupad Samaroh'” from Oct. 19 to 21 in 233 HUB-Robeson Center at University Park. The three-day festival will celebrate “dhrupad,” India’s oldest genre of classical music, with leading artists from India and the United States.

The program will feature vocalists, drumming, sarod (a lute, originally from Afghanistan), and choral pieces. The full schedule is as follows:
