Ramp closure planned for bridge repair work in State College

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting drivers to a westbound ramp closure coming next week on Route 322 in the State College area.

Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, the westbound exit ramp to Route 26 (College Avenue) will be closed. This closure is necessary to make repairs to bridge beams that were damaged in a crash earlier this summer. The bridge is on the Route 3010 overpass with damage to the span that goes over the Route 26 exit ramp.

Drivers will follow a detour that directs them to continue on Route 322 westbound for about one mile to the Penn State University exit, follow Park Avenue south (Route 3007), re-enter Route 322 eastbound for about one mile, and then exit for Route 26.

Work is currently scheduled from Oct. 15 through Oct. 25. PennDOT will lift the closure earlier than Oct. 25 if work progress allows. This repair work was added to PennDOT's I-99 construction contract. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College is the contractor on the I-99 project and will also perform this repair work.
