UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Law graduates who took the Pennsylvania Bar Exam for the first time in July passed at the second-highest rate among Pennsylvania law schools— about 89 percent. Only the University of Pennsylvania Law School had a higher pass rate.
According to the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners, the overall pass rate among all Pennsylvania Bar Exam test takers was about 79 percent.
Penn State Law offers extensive bar exam preparation for students and recent graduates of the law school in University Park. Led by Keith Elkin, associate dean for academic and student affairs and author of MBE: Beginning Your Campaign to Pass the Bar Exam, the Penn State Law bar prep program includes:
- a spring course that provides students with an early start to bar exam preparation;
- a post-graduation summer class to accompany bar study; and
- one-on-one tutoring for students in need of extra assistance.
