Professional development conference for graduate and postdoctoral students

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present a free, half-day conference for graduate and postdoctoral students from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct.  12, in Mann and Foster Auditoriums, Paterno Library, University Park.

This professional development conference will include the following sessions:

  • Career advice from new faculty

  • How to inspire student participation in the classroom

  • What if my students see me as “The Other”?

  • Seasoned grad students share tips for success

  • What is a credible source? Helping your students build information evaluation skills

  • Using improvisation and theatre techniques to energize the learning environment

Lunch will be provided for those who register. Please bring your own drink.
