Men’s golf

Second place in the Penn State Behrend Invitational

Seventh place in the Gettysburg College Invitational

Sophomore Jimmy Gillespie (Glen Mills, Pennsylvania/Garnet Valley) tied for second place in the Penn State Behrend Invitational on Monday, Oct. 1, shooting a career-low 74. Meanwhile, freshman Ethan Yohe (Murrysville, Pennsylvania/Franklin Regional) fired a 73 to place second in the Gettysburg College Invitational on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Men’s soccer

Pitt-Bradford 3, Penn State Altoona 0

Mount Aloysius College 6, Penn State Altoona 0

Junior goalkeeper Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, Pennsylvania/Palmyra) has made 17 saves in the Lions’ past two games, averaging 8.5 saves per game in that stretch.

Men’s tennis

Marietta College 6, Penn State Altoona 3

Junior Jake Colledge (Altoona, Pennsylvania/Altoona) had wins in both singles and doubles in the Lions’ fall season opener against Marietta on Friday, Sept. 28. He won 6-4, 6-2 in No. 1 singles and prevailed 8-5 in No. 1 doubles.

Women’s golf

Fourth place in the Penn State Behrend Invitational

Freshman individual golfer Katie Pupillo (Skippack, Pennsylvania/Perkiomen Valley) came in fourth place in the Penn State Behrend Invitational on Monday, Oct. 1, shooting 105.

Freshman Jessica Stevens (Altoona, Pennsylvania/Altoona) remains undefeated in No. 1 singles this season, posting a perfect 10-0 record to help the Penn State Altoona women’s tennis team to a 6-4 overall record through its first 10 matches this fall.

Sophomore setter Lauren Moran (Johnstown, Pennsylvania/Westmont Hilltop) had a team-high 16 assists and two service aces to go along with nine digs in the Lady Lions’ loss at Mount Aloysius College on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
