West Fields remain under construction and closed for recreational use
October 04, 2018

The West Recreation Field Complex’s upper field, located by the Penn State Golf Course next to Atherton Street, is undergoing a renovation and is currently an active construction site. The upper field is closed to the public for all types of activity. For safety reasons, students are reminded to stay out of the upper field construction area. University Police will be patrolling the area to ensure student safety while the field remains under construction.

Renovations on the West Recreation Field Complex began in September 2017. Because of unforeseen challenges, the upper field remains under construction.

Campus Recreation recently reopened the lower field for scheduled use by Club Sports teams and the Intercollegiate Athletics rugby teams.

During the final stages of renovation, Campus Recreation, a unit of Student Affairs, is actively working to create times for students and Campus Recreation members to use the lower field for drop-in recreational play. Those times will be announced when available.
