Weekly Wrap: 'GameDay'; LGBTQ-friendly school; New Creamery ice cream flavor

GAMEDAY: ESPN's "GameDay" program returns to Penn State and will broadcast from Old Main lawn as the Nittany Lions take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sept. 29.

HEALING FOAM: A new grant will help Penn State researchers develop an innovative foam that helps seal wounds quickly — whether on the battlefield, in rural areas, or in other isolated locations far from hospitals.

TASTY WHITE OUT: The Penn State Berkey Creamery unveiled a new ice cream flavor, "White Out," to coincide with the Penn State-Ohio State football game. The new flavor, a sweet blend of popcorn-flavored ice cream and white chocolate chips, became available at the Creamery on Monday.

$1M GIFT TO BELLISARIO: Penn State alumnus Jame P. Jimirro, who served as the founding president of the Disney Channel and Disney Home Video, and revived the National Lampoon brand, endowed a $1 million professorship in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications.

LGBTQ-FRIENDLY SCHOOL: Penn State was named one of the Campus Pride "Best of the Best" Top 30 LGTBQ-friendly colleges and universities, in recognition of its overall ratings related to LGBTQ-inclusive benchmark measures.

NATIONAL HAZING PREVENTION WEEK: Penn State is observing National Hazing Prevention Week from Sept. 24 to 28, hosting various education activities and events in order to raise awareness around the important issue of hazing on college campuses across the country.
