Science Coalition webinar to discuss how to tell research stories through events

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Science Coalition, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of more than 50 research universities — including Penn State — will hold the second installment of its Local Communications Workshop Series from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27.

During the webinar, university communications officers will share best practices for using events to bring scientific research to life and engage with federal delegations and local stakeholders. Examples of local events include press roundtables and facility tours.

Guest speakers will include:

— Joanne Fahey, director of communications at the University of Notre Dame

— Kristin Roberts, public affairs director at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University
