UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 9, registration holds will be placed for all Penn State students who have not submitted mandatory immunization information through myUHS. The registration hold will prohibit students from scheduling for spring 2019 courses until the requirement has been met.
The registration hold follows a series of communications issued by the University that began in spring 2018. Current and incoming students at all campus locations were instructed to complete and upload the Penn State Immunization Verification Form through University Health Services' myUHS portal. Over the past eight months, numerous reminders have been issued, with a final warning sent to all noncompliant students Sept. 6.
To have the registration hold removed, students must complete the two-step process outlined on the University Health Services website. Students must download and print the Penn State Immunization Verification Form, and take a copy to their health care provider for completion. Once completed, images of the form must be uploaded to University Health Services’ myUHS portal for final review and approval.
Shortly after submission, students will receive a secure message through myUHS alerting them of their status. If the form was accepted, the registration hold will be removed. If the form was declined, exact specifications and further instruction will be provided through myUHS.
Penn State requires that all undergraduate and graduate students be immunized against measles, mumps and rubella. In addition, all students living in University housing must receive the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), which protects against infections caused by serogroups A, C, W and Y.
Immunization requirements are applicable to all undergraduate and graduate students at all Penn State campus locations, with the exception of World Campus.
