Kevin Kinser, professor of education (higher education), was quoted in two articles on the Inside Higher Ed website. One article, "A Tipping Point for Accreditors," is a Q&A with Kinser and fellow co-editors of an anthology of essays on accreditation about new challenges for the college oversight bodies. He also was quoted in an article titled "For-Profit Chain Will Close Dozens of Campuses." The article discusses the Education Corporation of America's decision to close nearly 30 campuses across the country by 2020. He also was quoted by Forbes in the article "Despite Powerful Allies, Problems Persist in For-Profit Education."

Mark Kissling, assistant professor of education (social studies education), was featured on the podcast Democracy Now produced by the McCourtney Institute for Democracy at Penn State. Paul Morgan, professor of education (education policy studies), is part of a team of Penn State researchers to be awarded a seed grant from Penn State's Social Science Research Institute and Clinical and Translational Science Institute to address opioid concerns. Morgan and his colleagues' research is titled "Using Integrated Databases to Examine Patient Outcomes in Children with a History of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome."
