Student Programming Association presents AJR Oct. 7

Band kicks off Homecoming Week 2018

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Student Programming Association (SPA) is excited to announce indie pop band AJR for a free concert at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Alumni Hall. This show is a collaboration with Penn State Homecoming.

AJR is made up of three brothers, Adam, Jack and Ryan. They’ve released two albums and five EP’s since their formation in 2005; their first album, "Living Room," ranked number 20 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart.

Their second studio album, "The Click," gave AJR even more recognition since its release in 2017. The record reached number 61 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and its two singles, “Drama” and “Sober Up” were certified gold. Their music endeavors started heating up in 2018 with the release of two singles, “Burn the House Down,” and “Pretender.” “Burn the House Down,” was certified gold while “Pretender” features some bigger names like Steve Aoki and Lil Yachty.

AJR brings a new sound to the pop genre, from the mix of their electronic, homemade “beats” to their fun, upbeat lyrics, there’s a little something for everyone in their discography.

The performance is free for all students with a valid Penn State University Park Student Photo ID and is funded by the student initiated fee.

The concert will mark the beginning of Homecoming Week 2018. For more information about the different events happening throughout the week, please visit homecoming.psu.edu
