HARRISBURG, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg held its annual Constitution Day celebration on Sept. 17. A celebration of the signing of the United States Constitution in 1787, schools and colleges nationwide commemorate this day with a variety of activities.

This year, the college’s School of Humanities welcomed 200 students from Milton Hershey School, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, for a Constitution Day celebration. During this time, the visiting students heard a lecture from David Witwer, professor of history and American studies.

There also were Constitution-themed quizzes and prizes and a reading of the Constitution by faculty and students.

The Office of Student Life at Penn State Harrisburg also celebrated Constitution Day by passing out pocket Constitutions and presenting a video about the importance and key concepts of the U.S. Constitution.
