University community warned of email scam

Penn State's Office of the Bursar is alerting the university community to an email scam.

A number of Penn State students and employees have received emails that appear to come from "Bursar001@psu.edu." The email makes mention of a refund along with a link to information on how to receive the refund. This email was not sent by Penn State.

Any person who has received such a message should delete the email, and should not click on links contained within, nor should they provide any information, or respond to the email. This is a phishing email that was not sent by Penn State and the link leads to a bogus site.

Students who believe they may already have clicked on the link and entered their Penn State password should immediately go to the Penn State Password Management site and follow the instructions to reset their Penn State password.
