Grosse named Penn State assistant athletic director for marketing

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Associate Athletic Director Tom McGrath announced today that Chris Grosse (Gros-see) is joining the Nittany Lions’ staff as assistant athletic director for marketing. His official start date is Sept. 10.

Grosse will oversee the marketing initiatives for Penn State’s broad-based and highly successful 31-sport athletic program. He will work directly with the football program in a variety of areas, including ticketing, game day fan experience and branding. Grosse is the recipient of 13 NACMA “Best of” awards during his career.

Grosse comes to Penn State after serving at Georgetown University the past four years, the last two as assistant AD for marketing. He directed the marketing and social media efforts for the Hoyas’ 29-sport program. He previously served as the associate director of marketing, promotions and corporate sales at the United States Naval Academy for nearly five years. Grosse began his career as a marketing assistant at Florida State University while working on a master’s degree and as assistant director of marketing and promotions at New Mexico State University.

A native of Bedford, New Hampshire, Grosse earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in sports administration from Florida State University.
