Four student productions nominated for Mid-Atlantic Emmys

Four different Penn State student productions were recently nominated for Mid-Atlantic Emmy College/University Student Production Awards.

An episode of "Centre County Report," the student-run weekly newscast, was nominated. The production crew included Jillian Ford, producer; Megan Fox, director; and Emily Paulus, technical director; Erik Chambliss, news anchor; Jenna Scotti, news anchor; and Danielle Dindak, sports anchor.

Erin Kate Dolan, who graduated in May 2018 with a degree in broadcast journalism, was nominated in the talent category for her work on "Centre County Report."

“Quiet Sundays,” a documentary produced by sports journalism students about passionate NFL fans in Great Britain, was nominated for the long-form production category. The production staff included Dolan, producer; Katie Kemmerer, director; Paddy Cotter, editor; Hannah Geller, director of photography; Adhyaksh Amarnath, graphic artist; Jack Milewski, assistant producer; and Randi Ivler, assistant producer.

Tanner Rex, a senior studying telecommunications, was nominated in the short-form production category for his stop-motion film “Santa on the Shelf.”

Winners will be announced Oct. 13 at an awards ceremony in Philadelphia.
