Penn College cybersecurity student awarded national scholarship

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A Pennsylvania College of Technology student is one of 17 nationwide recipients of a $5,000 scholarship from Johnstone Supply, a leading cooperative wholesale distributor in the HVACR industry.

Alexander M. Fox, an information assurance and cybersecurity major from Bangor, received the honor exclusive to students who are employees or children of employees of Johnstone Supply. Thanks to the John M. Shank Memorial Scholarship Fund, named for the founder of Johnstone Supply, the company annually supports the educational pursuits of students in a variety of fields.

Recipients are chosen based on their GPA, educational and career objectives, leadership/community contribution, and financial need.

Fox’s major is one of four Penn College information technology baccalaureate degrees. The others are game and simulation programming, software development and information management, and information technology: network specialist concentration. The college also offers an associate degree in information technology: technical support technology emphasis.
