'How to Plan a Class Session' focus of Schreyer Institute workshop on Aug. 28-29

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present a free workshop titled “How to Plan a Class Session” from noon to 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, in 315 Rider Building at University Park. The workshop will be repeated from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, also in 315 Rider Building.

When planning to lead a class session, it's important to make sure that student learning objectives have been clearly identified. The workshop, facilitated by Wideline Seraphin, Sara Cavallo and Chas Brua, will explore how to create good learning objectives and how to make sure teaching and assessment strategies line up with those objectives.

“How to Plan a Class Session” satisfies a requirement for the Instructional Foundations Series for new instructors.
