UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Energy and Environmental Sustainability Laboratories (EESL) announced the third annual wine and cheese open house. The open house will take place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Atherton Hotel.

“Guests at the open house will have the opportunity to learn about EESL and our many services,” said Odette Mina, managing director of EESL. “The cutting-edge technology that we offer in the areas of energy and the environment can help deliver results for researchers and industry alike.”

In addition, the open house will provide information about the instruments available through EESL. Employees of EESL will be on hand to answer questions and share details about their laboratories.

Mina added that the details about EESL's new solar energy laboratory will also be announced.

EESL is shared multi-user instrumentation facilities that tie together world-class instrumentation and expertise in a broad array of analytical techniques covering materials in all phases. EESL, which is a part of the Institutes of Energy and the Environment (IEE), was created to offer researchers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge research equipment in the areas of energy and the environment.

The Institutes of Energy and the Environment works to build teams of experts from different disciplines to see how new ways of thinking can solve some of the world’s most difficult energy and environmental challenges. IEE understands that the world needs sustainable sources of energy, while simultaneously protecting and developing a healthy planet, people and economy.
