UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Beginning Sept. 1, all Penn State merchants will accept American Express and Discover credit cards.
“Up until this point, we had some Penn State merchants who had been accepting American Express and Discover, while others did not,” said David Gray, senior vice president for Finance and Business. “This is something that faculty, staff, students and visitors have been asking for. Whether you’re purchasing ice cream at the Penn State Berkey Creamery, paying for your room at the Nittany Lion Inn, buying event tickets at the Bryce Jordan Center or paying for parking on campus, you can use American Express and Discover as an option.”
With this change, Penn State merchants at all University locations will accept the four major credit card brands — VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
Gray added that third-party commercial vendors which operate on campus already accept all of the major credit card brands, including Au Bon Pain, Panda Express and Subway.
“We’re pleased that visitors to Penn State who want to use credit cards can pay with their card of choice,” he said.
