New College of Medicine graduate students take oath to uphold integrity

Current students honored with awards

Seventy incoming graduate students pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in the public health or biomedical sciences at Penn State College of Medicine took part in the annual Graduate Student Oath Ceremony on Aug. 17 at the University Conference Center.

The students took an oath during the ceremony to uphold the values of integrity, professionalism and scholarship throughout their academic careers. Symbolic of their initiation into the community of biomedical scientists, first-year doctoral students donned white lab coats, and master’s students received a commemorative gift.

Current graduate students were also recognized with awards for exceptional research and service achievements.
