Sending a 'We Are!' to these Penn Staters

As part of our regular "We Are!" feature, we recognize six Penn Staters who have gone above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form.

This week, we'd like say thank you on behalf of the entire University community to:

Brian Black of the College of Health and Human Development, whose nominator wrote: "Brian goes above and beyond for the School of Hospitality. He keeps in touch with so many of our alumni and engages them with the school. He is bridging the gap between today’s students and tomorrow’s alumni."

Tim Carty of the Office of Human Resources, whose nominator wrote: "Tim went above and beyond during the WorkDay transition by helping international students and post docs when systems weren't communicating properly. He stuck to it, made calls, and followed up. A pleasure to work with!"

John Padula, campus police officer with University Police and Public Safety, whose nominator wrote: "Officer Padula is a welcomed site on campus. His positive actions and Penn State pride show in all he does to make the campus safe."

Lisa Copenhaver of Student Affairs, whose nominator wrote: "Lisa is new to the University but was so willing to help us and find answers to our questions. She was the perfect friendly face that we needed while trying to plan our event and secure a room. She is a great addition to the Event Management Office and the Penn State family!"

Thank you to Brian, Tim, John and Lisa — and to everyone who helps make Penn State such an incredible community. We Are!
