University Police make armed robbery arrest

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – University Police arrested a man Tuesday, Aug. 7, for allegedly committing an armed robbery.

Authorities arrested Miguel Angel Uribe, 20, who has no known address, after he allegedly robbed the victim about 6 a.m. near the Hintz Family Alumni Center on the University Park campus, located near the 200 block of West College Avenue, State College. Police say Uribe was armed with a knife.

The victim, who was uninjured, went to a convenience store in the 100 block of South Pugh Street, where an employee called 911.

Authorities later located Uribe in downtown State College and apprehended him without incident. Police were able to identify the suspect based on the victim’s description. Police charged Uribe with robbery and related offenses.

Uribe was arraigned Tuesday, Aug. 7, before Magisterial District Judge Casey McClain and transported to Centre County Correctional Facility in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, in lieu of $50,000 bail.
