University Park campus to hold summer 2018 commencement Aug. 11

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Commencement ceremonies at the University Park campus are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Bryce Jordan Center.

This summer Penn State expects to award approximately 3,174 diplomas to students University-wide who are completing 188 associate, 1,658 baccalaureate, 1,038 master's, one law, one medical graduate, and 288 doctoral degrees. All figures listed are estimates as of July 27. Overall totals do not include the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Undergraduates

Events will begin at 10:30 a.m. Undergraduate and associate degree conferral will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will include brief remarks from Penn State President Eric Barron, the conferring of degrees, and a welcome into the Penn State Alumni Association.

The Graduate School

The Graduate School ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center. Graduates are to arrive 1 hour before the ceremony start time.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Jochen Schiewer, rector of the University of Freiburg, Germany, and president of Eucor - The European Campus, will speak.
