WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Recent scholarships from the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies reflects Pennsylvania College of Technology’s standing as a national leader in applied technology education.
Penn College students received nine of 22 awards from the PMMI Scholarship in Memorial of Claude S. Breeden, Glenn Davis and Art Schaefer. The $4,000 scholarships honor students who maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, plan for a career in packaging and processing machinery manufacturing, and show industry involvement through internship and career development activities.
The nine Penn College scholarship recipients represent a variety of majors from the School of Industrial, Computing & Engineering Technologies.
“The number of our students receiving these valuable scholarships speaks volumes about their personal dedication and tremendous potential for career success,” said David R. Cotner, dean of industrial, computing and engineering technologies. “The awards are also a testament to our faculty and staff’s commitment to academic integrity and strong ties to industry.”
Scholarship recipients are plastics and polymer engineering technology majors Danial J. Kilinski, of Montague, Michigan, and Harlie Smale V, of Dublin; industrial design majors Abigail M. Meredick, of Danville, and Tyler M. Schmill, of Williamsport; welding and fabrication engineering technology majors Benjamin A. Bean, of Bradford, and Natalie J. Rhoades, of Weedville; engineering design technology major David M. Moroskie, of Middleburg; manufacturing engineering technology major Trent C. Holben, of Brookville; and welding technology major Jeremy D. Carlson, of Russell.
The PMMI Foundation provides $150,000 annually in academic scholarships to students studying packaging, food processing, engineering and mechatronics at more than 40 partner schools throughout the United States and Canada.
