Harris named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year

ROSEMONT, Ill. — Isaiah Harris has been tabbed the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Harris, a junior, was also named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Championships last month.

During the 2018 outdoor season, Harris won the national title in the 800-meter run (1:44.76), tallied his third-straight 800-meter run title at the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships in a meet, and facility, record time of 1:45.31, and he recorded the third-fastest 800-meter split in Penn Relays history (1:44.74) to help Penn State win the sprint medley relay in a school-record time of 3:15.25.

With his award on Wednesday, Harris is the first Nittany Lion to win the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year, and he is the third Nittany Lion to garner Big Ten Athlete of the Year honors (Joe Kovacs - 2012 & Darrell Hill - 2014).
