UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Palmer Museum of Art has announced the appointment of Brandi Breslin as the new museum educator. She began her duties on June 11.
Breslin brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Palmer from her years in the education department at the Harn Museum of Art, at the University of Florida, where she worked as an educator for 16 years. There, she created and launched many successful new programs for university students, museum docents, and PreK-12 students and teachers, engaging museum audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
“We are excited to welcome Brandi to the Palmer and Penn State,” said Erin Coe, director of the Palmer Museum of Art. “Her extensive experience at a major university art museum will help us to sustain and grow our educational programs and extend our reach to students and the local community.”
At the Palmer, Breslin will oversee the museum’s robust docent program, play a vital role in shaping workshops, tours, and events for the public, and organize educational programs and resources for students at Penn State as well as youth in the surrounding communities.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Palmer team, and I look forward to working with museum audiences and supporters from campus, the community, and beyond,” said Breslin.
Breslin received her master of arts from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a bachelor of arts from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

The Palmer Museum of Art on the Penn State University Park campus is a free-admission arts resource for the University and surrounding communities in central Pennsylvania. With a collection of 8,850 objects representing a variety of cultures and spanning centuries of art, the Palmer is the largest art museum between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Areas of strength include the museum’s collection of American art from the late 18th century to the present, Old Master paintings, prints and photography, ceramics and studio glass, and a growing collection of modern and contemporary art. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays.
The Palmer receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
On view at the Palmer this summer are "American Art Posters of the 1890s," May 22 to Aug. 19; "Framing the City: Photographs from the Permanent Collection," June 5 to Aug. 19; and "When the Water Rises: Recent Paintings by Julie Heffernan," July 10 to Sept. 2.
