Schreyer Scholars awarded medals at Academic Achievement Awards ceremony

READING, Pa. — Six members of the Penn State Berks graduating class received their Schreyer Honors Medals at the Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony held on Sunday, April 22. Medals are awarded upon completion of the requirements of the Schreyer Honors College, including a capstone honors thesis.

Awardees included Michael A. Bianco for his thesis, “Virtual Air Hockey Table as Human Motor Control Analysis Research Platform”; Zachary Fox, “Quantifying Knee Injury Risk during a Wrestling Takedown”; Kaylee Grindrod, “Effectiveness of Social-Emotional Recognition Apps for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder”; Dominic Lupo, “Pendulum Angle Estimation with a Complementary Filter”; Matthew Duffy Moran, “Breaking Sedentary Behavior: Effectiveness of Acoustic vs. Vibrational Stimuli”; and Habib Yazgi, “Binding Affinities of Flavins to Riboflavin Binding Protein Using Fluorescence Spectrometry and Isothermal Titration Calorimetry and Estimated Binding Energies Using Computational Approaches.”

The Schreyer Honors College's overall enrollment of 1,800 scholars represents just 2 percent of Penn State University's undergraduate student population.
