WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology will host its annual Silent Auction on Friday, April 27, to benefit the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund.
The auction will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the first floor of Madigan Library. All proceeds from the event — which is open to the public — will go directly toward increasing the endowment of the fund, which awards multiple scholarships annually to students who play leadership roles at the college.
“The Student Government Association has worked tirelessly to prepare for this year’s Silent Auction to benefit the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship,” said Anthony J. Pace, director of student activities. “Through the generous donations of local businesses and our campus, SGA has secured a variety of donations — many beautifully handcrafted by members of the Penn College community — for this year’s auction.”
Donations have included themed baskets, framed pieces and other items from local artisans, and gift cards for goods and services.
Individuals may support the event by attending, by donating directly to the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund, www.pct.edu/give/scholarship, or by calling the Institutional Advancement Office toll-free at 866-GIVE-2-PC (866-448-3272).
The criteria require the recipient to be enrolled full time with at least one academic year remaining, and carry a GPA of at least 3.0. The fund is already fully endowed, but diligent fundraising has increased both the amount and the number of annual awards.
