Lions sophomore outfielder Peter Jacobs (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills West) hit .409 (9-for-22) last week with seven runs scored, three RBI, two doubles, and one home run.

With his 6-4, 6-0 win in No. 2 singles on Friday, April 13, at Frostburg State University, senior Thomas Graden (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) moved into a tie for second place on the Penn State Altoona men’s tennis team’s all-time singles wins record.

Four Lions were voted to the North Eastern Athletic Conference’s All-Conference squad last week. Senior middle hitter Dan Downs (Reading, PA/Daniel Boone) was voted first team All-NEAC, senior middle/opposite hitter Justin Bannister (Willow Hill, PA/Fannett-Metal) and sophomore libero Brandon Arentz (Mount Wolf, PA/Northeastern) were both second team selections, and sophomore setter Tommy Kisick (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) was a third team All-Conference pick.

Junior shortstop Haley Giedroc (Howard, PA/Bald Eagle) hit .500 (6-for-12) for the Lady Lions last week, finishing the week with 10 RBI, eight runs scored, four stolen bases, four walks, two home runs and two doubles.
